We get by with a little help from our friends
Murphy's halfway to St. Patrick's Day was created by Matt Smith who is a good friend of Murphy. The idea was to have a celebration that would be great fun and raise money for great causes at the same time. The event started in 2012 and was an excuse to wear green enjoy the company of friends and family all while supporting our community and fundraising for a worthwhile cause. The funds raised doing these early years were donated to JDRF for research to help find a cure.
Landree was diagnosed in April of 2017 and never complained but instead educated herself as much as she could on T1D, how to successfully manage it, and how she could help others. Murphy immediately wanted her to be a part of this event. This year they have chosen Camp Colorado as the charity because they know the difference it can make in the life of a child that needs the support and experience that this camp provides, but can't afford it.
Below are some photos of fellow type 1 warriors that battle diabetes every day and have always been a big support to the Halfway fundraiser. These are important friends in the lives of Murphy and Landree.
